by Jon Offredo

Why I can’t tweet (unless it is about football)

by Jon Offredo

Why I can’t tweet (unless it is about football) So, a while back I weighed the options of creating a work-based Twitter account. I struggled deciding between creating one based on work vs. adding work content to my personal one. All in all I decided against combining my personal

by Jon Offredo

The five must-read long form pieces of journalism Everyone likes a good read. It could be a short, zippy few hundred words like this piece, or a long, riveting piece of narrative journalism that grips you from word one, all the way through to word 10,000. A couple

Journalism: Basically the worst thing, ever

by Jon Offredo

Journalism: Basically the worst thing, ever April seems to have been the month of doom and gloom for the journo-type. I can’t speak for the UK, but here in the US there seems to have been a never ending stream of surveys and studies that show

Shan Ellis: Making it in journalism; going the long way round

by Jon Offredo

Shan Ellis: Making it in journalism; going the long way round If someone would have told me at 18 that I would be writing for a newspaper at 34, then I probably would have laughed at them and asked them what they’d been drinking. I was never an outstanding student in
